I’ve always been into simple symbols and shapes. Whether it be nautical flags or alchemical signs, how they can represent so much with so little always fascinated me. They’re so economical.

For this Blood Built Empire (digital and cassette) release, I wanted to keep everything focused and to the point, with nothing unnecessary in the way. The triangle is the symbol for water, and I painted it in watercolors then scanned it, blew it up, and thresholded it. Themes!
