Fractured

Album Art Direction & Design

Fractured is an album by my band, Blood Built Empire. It was released both digitally and on 12” vinyl.

Every release of ours, I like to incorporate certain hand-done aspects, giving the projects a little more unexpected imperfection and humanity. Letraset lettering for the track-listing and a couple other parts checked that box here.

The main images for the cover, back cover, and insert are all stills from films (not telling which ones). To further distort them and also have them be able to be printed at high resolutions, I blew them up, then applied a halftone screen with lines. I kind of stumbled on the solution, but instantly knew it was right. It feels futuristic and archaic at the same time.
